ARX Robotics unveils Hector
ARX Robotics unveils Hector: an optionally manned, software-defined UGV to raise speed and standoff
ARX Robotics has been awarded a contract by the European Defence Agency (EDA) to participate in the first EU Defence Innovation Operational Experimentation Campaign. The initiative is organised by the Hub for European Defence Innovation (HEDI), with support from Italian military authorities, and marks a major milestone in European defence collaboration and innovation.
This groundbreaking campaign, the first of its kind initiated by the EDA, aims to test and validate cutting-edge robotic and autonomous systems in operational settings. By bringing together leading defence innovators from across the continent, the campaign accelerates the integration of emerging technologies into military capability development and force protection strategies.
ARX Robotics will contribute its latest generation of autonomous ground systems and software capabilities to the campaign. Built around three pillars—automation, interoperability, and AI-driven performance - ARX’s mission-critical technologies are designed to support modern armed forces in achieving more effective, adaptive, and safer operations.
This collaboration with the EDA is more than a showcase—it is a step toward reshaping the future of defence operations in Europe. The campaign provides an opportunity for real-world validation, enabling defence stakeholders to assess the impact of advanced autonomy and intelligent systems in live scenarios. For ARX Robotics, the contract represents both recognition of its technology leadership and a platform to contribute to Europe’s strategic readiness. The company remains committed to delivering robust, scalable, and intelligent systems that empower those who protect us—now
and in the future.
Winning this contract is just the beginning. ARX Robotics looks forward to sharing further updates from the campaign and to continuing its mission to drive innovation at the core of European defence transformation.
ARX Robotics is a leading European defense-tech company developing Europe’s foremost unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), the Gereon-RCS series, as well as Mithra OS - an AI-powered operating system that integrates autonomous and legacy platforms. ARX Robotics focuses on the digital transformation of land forces and the development of autonomous unmanned systems. With the ARX Robotic Framework - an approach that combines software-enabled hardware with a modular platform architecture - ARX leverages the potential of robotics and artificial intelligence to reshape the capabilities and capacities of land forces. In addition, ARX modernizes existing vehicle fleets with Mithra OS by integrating AI, sensor systems, and software-defined autonomy. ARX systems and technologies are deployed by several European armed forces and are in use in Ukraine. With strong technological expertise and a high level of innovation, ARX Robotics delivers solutions that maximize soldier protection and strengthen Europe’s strategic independence.
