ARX Robotics, a European leader in uncrewed land systems, is significantly expanding its deployed fleet in Ukraine in response to rapidly growing demand for unmanned ground systems in frontline logistics and support missions. With this, the company increases the number of Gereon units in operation to five times the initial fleet.
The latest contract comes as Ukraine intensifies efforts to scale its use of uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) across the battlefield. Ukrainian officials recently announced plans to procure 25,000 new ground robots in the first half of this year alone, as part of a broader push to transition frontline logistics fully to unmanned systems.
The award will see ARX Robotics supply several hundred additional GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles to Ukraine´s Defense Forces, reinforcing the company’s growing role in supporting frontline forces through rapidly deployable unmanned technologies. With hundreds of vehicles already in operation or contracted for delivery across a broad range of missions, ARX Robotics is currently the largest supplier of western UGVs to Ukraine.
The UGVs will primarily be deployed in mission-critical operations such as logistics, casualty evacuation, resupply, and other high-threat environments that would otherwise expose soldiers to danger. Additional payloads and mission configurations may also be integrated over time, subject to operational requirements and ongoing coordination with Ukraine´s Defense Forces.
As part of this fleet expansion, ARX Robotics will further strengthen its industrial footprint in Ukraine alongside local supply partners. The company has already been scaling manufacturing capabilities across its sites to meet growing demand and urgent operational requirements, accelerating delivery, strengthening industrial cooperation, and ensuring supply chain resilience.
ARX Robotics will also enhance its in-country operational support, providing field training and comprehensive on-site technical assistance to ensure the effective deployment, operation, and maintenance of its systems within military units. The active deployment enables the company to continuously improve its systems under operational conditions and advance the development of next-generation uncrewed land capabilities.
The GEREON series is ARX Robotics’ medium-sized, autonomous and modular unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). Its modular design ensures adaptability for a seamless transitionbetween configurations and a wide range of missions. By combining scalable hardware platforms with advanced autonomy software, ARX Robotics enables militaries to deploy robotic systems rapidly and adapt them to evolving battlefield requirements.

Announcing the latest contract, Marc Wietfeld, CEO and co-founder of ARX Robotics, said: “We are seeing a clear shift in modern combat operations: unmanned ground systems are no longer a niche capability but are becoming a key enabler and the future backbone of frontline logistics. The battlefield reality shows that unmanned ground systems have become indispensable to sustaining forces, reducing risk to soldiers, and preserving the operational edge.”
“At ARX Robotics, we stand ready to support partners facing urgent security challenges through unmanned land systems designed to be deployed quickly, adapted to real operational needs, and scaled at pace. With this contract, we demonstrate that European defence technology can move at the speed the theatre of combat demands – and deliver where it matters most.”
Igor Kornilov, CEO of ARX Robotics Ukraine, commened: “Unmanned ground vehicles are reshaping today’s battlefield, delivering a clear operational edge for modern forces navigating contested environments. This contract goes beyond delivery – it marks a decisive step in scaling an end-to-end capability built alongside Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Our close collaboration allows us to act on frontline feedback at speed, continuously refining and evolving our systems to meet real-world demands. At the same time, we are strengthening our field training - ensuring every soldier can fully leverage these capabilities with confidence, while minimizing risk to personnel.”
